In today’s times of high divorce rates and couples deciding to call it at the drop of a dime, we are beginning to hear of one or another couple close to us that is more than ready to call it quits. Be it a couple we know from our place of work, school, and sometimes even church these stories are beginning to surface more and more often. The very recent sad love story I mention here is one that likely has happened over a thousand times.
Marriages and relationships of old were found to be much harder to break down so easily, yet I am sure there were still quite a few people who had a memorable sad romantic story or two.
Now honestly, no one actually likes to hear a depressing love story, yet let’s face it; this is reality in the current times we live in. I actually heard one on my own from that of a friend who is from Africa just the other day. She was devastated and was obviously saddened. Her sad story was a sad one indeed, given that she gave up so much for love; her virginity! I know I should find some positive note to end on and I promise to do just that.
However, we all are allowed our own opinion and some may not agree that the outcome is positive. In short, she came here from Ethiopia with big dreams, met a man, got married and was actually a virgin at 24! He used her to care for his children and to maintain his household which includes many other tasks. She very quickly learned that he had been living with a woman on the nights he told her he was working.
She was devastated and had planned to have a full life with this man. In short, the positive side is that she learned that the world is not always so innocent. She learned that sometimes people will say what they may in order to get what they want. Even though she had one very sad love story, hopefully a happy future awaits her.
